Configuring Best Practice to send and receive MMEx messages

Best Practice can be configured so that it can be used as an email client to send and receive MMEx messages

MMEx users can configure Best Practice so that they can send and receive MMEx messages within the practice management system. By undertaking the following simple steps, you will be able to configure Best Practice so that the program integrates with MMEx.

Check to make sure you have the MMEx Client downloaded onto your machine. To check if you have installed the client on your individual machine go to the Windows tool bar at the bottom of the screen. If you see the following [pic here] symbol near the clock, you have installed the Client (when checking, you may need to extend the toolbar by clicking on the < symbol on the bottom right hand side of the screen to show hidden icons). If you don’t have the MMEx Client installed, follow the instructions in MMEx Technical Help Sheet 6: Installing the MMEx Client, before undertaking the steps outlined below.

To begin, open up Best Practice on your computer. Select the Setup menu from the top tool bar, and then click on the Configuration option.

On the configuration page, go to the email icon in the box on the left hand side of the screen

If you are already using Best Practice for your other email accounts, you will notice the details of those accounts displayed in the email configuration page.

To add your MMEx account, select the Add option. Then select the Best Practice User whose account is being added. In the Server section, enter the numbers 127.0.0.1 (or the details of the server where the MMEx Client has been located), then enter your MMEx user name and password. Click Save.

Next, click on the Add button next to the Outgoing mail (SMTP Server).

Again, fill in the User details and in the Server section, entering the numbers 127.0.0.1 (or the details of the server where the MMEx Client has been located) then enter your MMEx user name and password. Click Save.
