The following simple steps will configure Genie for importation of MMEx's HL7 Documents.
Open up the MMEx Client and in the HL7 Directory, enter the location:
C:\Program Files\GenieDemo\LabRslts

Log into Genie. Activate the Open Menu from the top menu bar and select the Pathology and Radiology option.

In the Download Results page, click on the Lab Results Folder icon. You can import MMEx messages for all MMEx users in the practice, or you can limit the import to a single docter/individual.
In the Lab Results Folder Box, any new documents should appear. Click on Import. Once the document has been imported into the Genie Downloaded Results page, it will disappear from the Lab Results Folder.

The MMEx HL7 document will now appear in the Downloaded Results page, and can be activated by double clicking on the entry.

The GP can now either examine the correspondence within the Downloaded results page, or you can activate the imported document and assign it to a patient's record. Genie recognises that the MMEx message is not a pathology report, but rather a letter and provides you with the option of labelling the correspondence as a letter on the patient's file. If you identify the correspondence as a letter, it will also appear in the Incoming Letters page, which can be accessed from the Open Menu of Genie.

If you have chosen to attach the correspondence to the patient's record, you can alert the GP to the new letter, via the Tasks list in the Open Menu of Genie. Within the Task list you can link to a patient, identify the GP involved and enter a message stating what is required. When you have finished, press Send.
