Configuring MD3 for the Importation of MMEx Non HL7 Documents

MMEx non-HL7 documents can be imported into Medical Director (MD3).

The MMEx Client will allow for the importation of non-HL7 documents into MD3

The following simple steps will configure MD3 for importation of MMEx's non-HL7 documents.

Open the MD3 Document Holding Bay.

To access the Document Holding Bay, go to the Window's Start menu, and search under Programs > Health Communications Network > Medical Director > Document Holding Bay. Alternatively, open up the HCN Maintenance Icon from the Desktop.

Log in with your username and password and press OK. Click on the Import button and select your document from the MMEx Non HL7 Document Directory.

MD3 will now request that you classify the document. You can rename the document, provide it with an overall classification using the drop down menu under document type, and also provide a short description of the document.

The document will now appear in the list of documents in the Document Holding Bay.

To attach the document to a patient record, click on the Assign icon

Select the patient using the search feature and press OK.

At this point, the Store icon will illuminate and you must click on it to store the document. The document will now disappear from the list in the Document Holding Bay and will be stored in the patient's record in MD3.
