Using MIMS to create prescriptions in MMEx

If you use MMEx to record patient details, you can use the MIMS integration package to create prescriptions for patients.

To create a script for a patient open their record and click on the Medications button. Next, click on the Add Meds and prescribe button.

In the Add new prescription page, click on the Use MIMS button, this will take you to the MMEx interface and allow you to search for medications within the MIMS database. Please note, that you can search MIMS using both generic and proprietary names, simply tick the boxes that are required. Once you have selected the medication, you can provide additional information such as the dose and frequency. If you wish to print the script, click on the mark for printing box. When you have completed entering the necessary details, click on the Add button. If you wish to prescribe additional medications, repeat the above process. Once you have finished, click on the Close button.

Next click on the Print Scripts button. If you forgot to select a medication for printing, simply click on the Print box on the left hand side of the medication details. MMEx will now generate a PDF of the prescription, which will include all medications that were selected for printing. Once the PDF form has been generated, you can print it and sign it.

You can also use MMEx to print prescription labels if you will be dispensing the prescription.

Re-prescribing the same medications at a later date

If you wish to re-prescribe a medication after the original script and any repeats have been exhausted, click on the Scripts button, and a list of medications that have been prescribed for the patient will appear. Find the relevant medication. If you need to alter any aspect of the script, click on the Edit button and update the details as required. Now click on the Print Scripts button. MMEx will now generate a PDF of the prescription, which will include all medications that were selected for printing. Once the PDF form has been generated, you can print it and sign it.
