The MMEx eHealth Platform has always been at the forefront of integrating and supporting standards and research-‐based innovation. Nowhere is this more evident than in its support for NEHTA standards that will allow it to interoperate with the Australian Federal Government’s Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR).
MMEx will be fully interoperable with the PCEHR when this becomes operational in October 2013.
Integral to supporting the ability to interface with the PCEHR is the support of a variety of standards including:
Starting in 2008, MMEx was one of the first products in Australia to support SNOMED-‐CT as its core terminology.
MMEx has always supported a range of HL7 standards for messaging including the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).
MMEx’s secure messaging has always been web-‐service based and now supports NEHTA’s Secure Message Delivery standard (SMD).
Work is underway to complete the integration of individual healthcare identifiers into MMEx. This is expected to be complete by June 2012.
